Scholar house 3 initiative

“I haven’t gone to bed hungry in five weeks… the longest time of my life. Thank you.”

Columbus Scholar House 3 is dedicated to providing affordable housing to former foster youth who are pursuing higher education. The Mirth Project is honored to be in a position to play a small role in ensuring their success. We do so by applying your generous donations to fulfilling basic needs, such as stocking their community kitchen pantry, providing needed essentials like computers and other tech supplies as well as special projects like creating a house library and helping them go after their goals and achieving them.

Join us today as a donor and your dollars will have a direct impact on the life of an ambitious college student ready to transform their life.

Areas of Need

Our work at Scholar House 3 centers around these three major areas of need.

Community Kitchen

With their new lives before them and limited income, Scholar House 3 residents often run out of funds for basic needs like personal care products, cleaning supplies and sadly food. Our program ensures their Community Kitchen, a shared space in Scholar House 3, is

constantly stocked with food for days when they don’t have enough on their own.

Special Projects

Residents needs are always changing and we are always listening. The Mirth Project supplies books for our on-site Scholar House Library. We also supply computers when needed, or other supplies for school and life. Your donation ensures we have ample funds to meet these needs and others, yet to be discovered.

Bringing Dreams to Life

Some of the youth at Scholar House 3 are perfect candidates for our Teens with Dreams program. Read more about this fantastic program here. Our team is also always busy granting resident Christmas wishes through the Mirth Project at Christmas.
